Every link in the chain, handled in-house

Most delays do not happen in transit. They happen in the handoffs between forwarder, broker and warehouse. Vertex owns all three.

Ocean Freight

FCL and LCL across every major trade lane, with weekly consolidations and direct carrier contracts that keep rates stable through peak season.

  • FCL, LCL & break-bulk
  • Reefer & out-of-gauge cargo
  • Port-to-port and door-to-door

Air Freight

Consolidated, direct and charter uplift when the shipment cannot wait, including temperature-controlled and time-definite lanes.

  • Next-flight-out & deferred
  • Perishables & pharma
  • Charter & on-board courier

Road & Rail

Inland drayage, cross-border trucking and intermodal rail that close the first and last mile without a second vendor in the loop.

  • FTL & LTL trucking
  • Port drayage & transloading
  • Bonded in-transit moves

Customs & Compliance

Licensed brokerage with in-house classification. We file the entry, defend the valuation and handle post-entry corrections ourselves.

  • HS classification & valuation
  • Duty, tariff & FTA optimisation
  • Bonds, ISF & AMS filing

Warehousing & Distribution

Bonded and general storage at origin and destination, with pick-and-pack, labelling and inventory counts visible in real time.

  • Bonded & FTZ storage
  • Pick, pack & kitting
  • Cross-docking & fulfilment

Sourcing & Documentation

Supplier vetting, inspection coordination and the full export document set, so a missing certificate never strands your cargo at the border.

  • Supplier vetting & QC
  • LC, CO & phytosanitary docs
  • Cargo insurance placement

Cargo we know how to move

Compliance requirements change completely between a pallet of textiles and a reefer of produce. These are the categories our team files against every week.

Four steps, no surprises

You see the full landed cost before anything moves. No arrival-day surcharges, no "pending" line items.

  1. 01

    Scope & quote

We review commodity, Incoterms, volume and timeline, then return an all-in landed cost: freight, duty, handling and clearance in one figure.

  2. 02

    Documents & compliance

Classification is confirmed, licences and certificates are collected, and the entry is pre-validated against destination rules before departure.

  3. 03

    Book & track

Space is secured with a contracted carrier and every milestone is pushed to you: gate-in, sailing, transhipment, arrival, release.

  4. 04

    Clear & deliver

Entry is filed ahead of arrival so the container moves on release day, straight to your door or into bonded storage.

A forwarder that answers the phone

Importers rarely leave a forwarder over rates. They leave because nobody could tell them where the container was. We built the operation around that.

“Four years, roughly nine hundred containers, and one thing has not changed: when something goes wrong, somebody at Vertex calls us before we have to call them.”
Operations Director Industrial equipment importer, Rotterdam
  • One named coordinator

Not a shared inbox or a ticket queue. A single person who knows your cargo, your supplier and your deadlines.

  • Landed cost upfront

Duty, handling, documentation and demurrage exposure are quoted before booking, so your margin is not a guess.

  • Vetted agent network

Partners in 120+ countries, each audited annually on clearance speed, claim rate and responsiveness, not just price.

  • Compliance as default

C-TPAT validated and AEO certified. Our entries clear on documentation quality, which is why our hold rate stays low.

Built by people who have cleared the cargo themselves

Vertex was founded in 2014 by a small team of customs brokers and ocean operators who were tired of watching shipments stall in the gaps between vendors. The fix was not more software. It was putting freight, brokerage and warehousing under one roof, with one person accountable per account.

Today we move cargo for manufacturers, distributors and retailers across more than 120 countries, from single-pallet LCL consolidations to multi-container industrial programmes. We are deliberately mid-sized: large enough to hold real carrier contracts, small enough that your coordinator knows your cargo without looking it up.

Questions we get before the first booking

What regions do you ship to?

More than 120 countries through a vetted network of carriers, agents and bonded facilities. Lane density is heaviest across Asia-Pacific, North America, Europe and East Africa.

Do you handle customs clearance as well as freight?

Yes. We are a licensed customs broker. Classification, valuation, duty calculation, entry filing and post-entry corrections are all handled in-house, so freight and clearance never sit with two different companies pointing at each other.

What is the minimum shipment size you accept?

There is no minimum. We consolidate LCL cargo from a single pallet and scale up to multi-container programmes and chartered air uplift.

How quickly can I get a quote?

Standard lane quotes come back within one business day. Special handling, hazardous goods or project cargo usually takes two to three business days because we price those against a live carrier response.

Can you work with our existing suppliers?

Of course. We will onboard your suppliers, audit their export documentation and coordinate pickups directly with them. If you would rather we source, we can do that too.

How do you charge?

One all-in landed cost per shipment, or a contracted rate card for recurring volume. Duty and government fees are passed through at cost with documentation attached.

Tell us what you are moving

Send the commodity, the route and the rough volume. You will have a quote and a named coordinator within one business day.

We reply within one business day. Your details are used only to prepare your quote.
